House of Night Series to Be Adapted

Exciting news!  The House of Night Series books by P.C. Cast & Kristen cast, a vampire teen vampire series, had its film rights acquired by film producer Samuel Hadid and his production company, Davis Films.  Hadid released this statement:  “We are thrilled to bring P.C.’s and Kristin’s stunning series of books to worldwide film audiences.  They have created a world of adolescent growth against a backdrop of supernatural suspense that resonates around the world with young readers immersed in Twilight and Harry Potter.  House of Night connects on a profound level – what growing up means today.”

So who would you cast as Zoey Redbird???

First Image of Warm Bodies

This is the first promo image of the new movie Warm Bodies, that is being shopped at the American Film Market currently for international rights.  This is a book to movie make on a young adult novel by Jonathan Levine about a zombie who falls in love with a girl after eating her boyfriend’s brains.  Think Twilight for the zombie genre.  The movie stars Nicholas Hunt who plays zombie “R” and Teresa Palmer who plays R’s love interest, Julie.  Release date is 2012.  The book was a great read so I’m definitely looking forward to this movie.

Foxface's Name to be Revealed in The Hunger Games Movie

This weekend, Hunger Games actress Jackie Emerson (who plays Foxface) and fellow cast member, Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), announced via "twitchat" that in the movie fans will learn the real name of the character Foxface.  In the book, Katniss just refers to the red head as Foxface because that is what she looks like.  We never really know what the girl's name is.  Pretty cool tidbit.

They have livestream of the twitchat video.

Katniss Everdeen Could Have Been Bella Swan?

A little interesting fact, Jennifer Lawrence had originally auditioned for the role of Bella Swan.  A Twihard herself, was a bit disappointed for not getting the role and maybe a pit peeved that Kristen Stewart had only read the first book!

Though, she may not have gotten the role she had wanted then, I think her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games is going to be amazing...much better than being a vampire's lackey!!  She gets to start a revolution!  I cannot wait for the movie to hit theaters.  It is one of the films I most looking forward to!

Fallen by Lauren Kate Movie

Yay! for YA books being made into movies.  Another one of my favorite YA books Fallen by Lauren Kate is now in preproduction.  This movie has been optioned by Disney and is slated to release in 2012.

I am also happy to inform that Lauren Kate is also involved in a consulting capacity.  They have already casted Lucy Hale, who you know from Pretty Little Liars, as Lucinda Price.  I can't wait to find out who they will cast for Daniel.

Mortal Instruments - The Next YA Book to Become a Movie

If you haven't read the Mortal Instruments Trilogy by Cassandra Clare, be sure it is on your list of to do's.  These books are fabulous and was absolutely delighted to find out that they have optioned these books to become a movie.  Scheduled to release for 2012 (via IMBD), this gives all us YA book fans something to look forward to.

Lilly Collins as Clary Fray

They have already casted two of the characters:  Lily Collins as Clary Fray and Jami Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland, which I think is just perfect!!  I can't help but wonder and anticipate who they will cast as Simon and the Lightwood twins: Isabelle & Alec.  Check out this great write up MTV's Hollywood Crush has done.  Included is a great interview with Lily Collins.
